live bearer babies
on this page we will discuss the best ways and the safest ways to help your beutifull livebearer fish(ie. guppy platy molly) give birth to lots of healthy fry in wich i will give advice on raising these great fish and there specific needs.but please remember this is what has worked for me. always have more females and males and have a spare tank ready with heater and filter my tempreture in the spare tank for my fry is at 25 and prefrebly have a light to as this can help prevent spine trouble in you fry as your number one concern should b the fish and not saveing money so please make sure u can get all the equipment and the right foods before u decide to breed. if there is anything else on this subject you would like to knmow please email me and i will do my best to help u and one more thing this is to seperate the female in another tank so she dont get to sressed you can tell when ur fish are pregnant as u will see a black dot appear on both sides and this will grow and if u look very carfully if the spots are at there biggest u can se the fry move its a great site to see the spot is called the gravid spot
guppy and fry
now guppies well what can i say they are by far one of the best and prettiest fish to have and very easy to breed hardly any work on the fishkeepers part is needed. but if u do want to raise these great fish all u need is a spare tank with heater and filter of course but the filter can not b to powerfull or it will suck in the fry and then well thats it. to start with u need 2 females to one male this is a golden rule as it stops the females getting stressed from to much attention firstly make sure the tempreture in the tank is 26-27 c and plenty of weed cover for any fry to drop and feed t he adult guppys with blood wormes once a week as from my experiance it conditions them into breeding and u get loads of healthy young and to feed the new additions the fry crush up normal flake food to a crumb and feed that to the fry depending on how many u have for about 6 to 10 fry i would feed les then a pinch 3 times a day. and the fry are ready foor ur main tank when the are bigger then ur biggest fishes mouth as the other fish will eat them if they are small enough. if there is anything i have missed out please get in touch and let me know
platy and fry
these fish like the guppy are a must and are quite simerler in breeding once again have a spare tank ready for ur new arrivles you probly dont even ave to do anything as these fish are a bit like guppy and breed fairly quickly. and once again crush up the flake food to a crumb and feed 3 times a day and the adults also like lettice to and peas use peas at least once a week and dont for get to take the skins of and this will help you keep all your fish from getting swim bladder problems and will also help with the baby fry
mollies and fry
mollies these have to be my favourites as these breed fast and the fry grow even faster i do the same things for these great fish as i do with platies and guppies these fish will breed on there own with out any help i can assure u but my tank when i want to help all my live bearer to get there grove on i put the tempreture up to 27 degrees as this seems to help them along a bit and they also get fed blood wormsonce a week untill the fry are born and i put the fry in my spare tank witch the tempreture is 24 and fed 3 times a day on crush flake food and on avarage the fry are big enough and fast enough to go in the main tank but i recomend keeping them in the spare tank for to months all you have to do is feed and watch its a great feeling trust me i have bred dozens of mollies well they have bred themselves realy. but its amazing watching them giving birth and there differant coulers that they have i have bred blue and black molliesthey my fav of em all i also have pure white mollies there nice to. please email me about any of ur fav fish
